Litlte Sweeties
Finding the right daycare or childcare provider for your children is one of the hardest tasks for a family.  We are fortunate to live in an area with many good options, but still the decision is never an easy one.
I recently met with Heidi Brooks from Little Sweeties Early Care & Learning in Luther Forest.  Little Sweeties is a NYS Licensed home daycare facility.  There are lots of in-home childcare providers but not all of them are licensed providers.  Being licensed means that the state makes annual visits and surprise visits to check out the facility and make sure everything from food to cleanliness is up to par.  Also licensed providers are required to pass exams and certifications and are required to have CPR/First Aid training.

Heidi has run Little Sweeties for the past 8 years.  There are two full time staff members, Heidi and her sister and another part-time helper.

One of the main benefits of a home daycare over a daycare facility is that you can really develop a relationship with the childcare provider.  At Little Sweeties, almost all of the children have been in the facility since birth and Heidi has great relationships with the parents.  She understands and cares for each child as if it were her own.

Little Sweeties was recently selected as a model food program by the state.  They helped develop a training program and video to show the importance of healthy eating and preparing nutritious meals.  Meals and snacks at Little Sweeties are healthy and processed foods are never served.

In September the children who are ages 2-4 will work on a preschool curriculum 3 mornings a week.  In addition, every Wednesday is music and movement.
Little Sweeties can accommodate children of all ages, full-time, part-time and before or after school.

Little Sweeties Early Care is conveniently located in Malta just off the Northway and Route 9.  For more information, contact Heidi Brooks at 588-7076 or heidib4@live.com.

Great information about the daycare & the other information of the system of the daycare. It’s great to come across a blog every once in a while that isn’t the same out of date rehashed information.
