The day will feature musical Entertainment, Community Business & Non-Profit Booths, Food Concessions, Bounce Houses, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, Face Painting, Games, Balloon Sculptures, Talent Showcase, Scarecrow Decorating Contest, Tae Kwon Do Demonstrations, Rock Climbing Wall and much MORE! If you go, look for me and say hello! I will be sporting baby Angie in my Beco carrier while attempting to keep Robby away from playing in traffic on Route 9. See you there!
Malta Community Day is this Saturday, September 11th from 10am-4pm in Downtown Malta. Where is downtown Malta? Across from Stewarts in that random gazebo, of course! I'm half kidding because I am a strong supporter of a 'downtown Malta' having more businesses and things to walk to. I just don't think we are quite to the point of calling the existing parcel a 'downtown'. In any case, check out the festivities this Saturday! The day kicks off with a 5k run at 8:30. If you want more info on that, check out Malta BPA's site. A parade down Route 9 will commence at 10am starting at the Malta Community Center and ending downtown at Malta Commons (the gazebo). I can't wait! I've been looking forward to this all week because I know that my daughter is going to LOVE LOVE LOVE the pony rides and petting zoo and I'm pretty sure that my son will enjoy the bounce house. Any suggestions on a good place to park?

It's 23 years later. Two people had a vision to start this for our community, one lives in Malta and the other moved to Minnesota. Go figure. It all started at Chango Elementary School on a very windy day. A few years later, we moved to Malta Town Hall's back yard with two big tents and many exhibits..God bless all of the organizers and folks who continue to carry on this tradition!
