Tiny Tots special and more!

I went to the Tiny Tots Tearoom last Friday and had a great time. I really like it there, especially in the colder months when activities are few and far between. We stayed for several hours which killed the morning and made for great afternoon naps for all. I like being able to feed my son a healthy lunch too, and the menu at Tiny Tots is fantastic for that. (their coffee drinks and food for mama's are yummy too!) And now for a special offer for MaltaMama readers...

I really enjoy going to Tiny Tots Tearoom in Clifton Park. It's a great indoor activity (and we'll need more of those in the coming months), the kids have a blast, and it's relaxing for mama's too. They serve good food and drinks for adults and kids. If you haven't been yet, I definitely encourage you to check it out as they just extended their hours.

Katrina Trask Consignment Sale starts tomorrow!

Love to shop but need to save?

The twice annual Katrina Trask Nursery School consignment sale starts tomorrow: Friday, October 15th from 3pm-8pm and a half-price sale on Saturday, October 16th from 9am-1pm at the American Legion at 34 West Ave in Saratoga Springs. I went to the spring sale on the half price day and found some nice things however had I gone on Friday I think I would have done better. I also like this sale because the profits benefit the school which makes me feel good about spending all kinds of money! As always, these consignment sales are best attended without kids, but you can certainly bring them along if need be and pray that the checkout lines are not super long!

Encore Sale this week!

It's time again for the Encore Kids Sale! This consignment sale is in Ballston Spa in the 4-H building at the Saratoga Fairgrounds (which are actually in Ballston Spa) on Prospect Street. Here's a link to directions. This is typically a big sale with lots of stuff and lots of people. I went to the spring Encore sale and it was a zoo, but manageable. It's always better to leave the kids at home if you can! I found the prices for used toys to be expensive, but there are definitely deals to be had depending on what you are looking for.

Free movies at Regal Cinema

I'm a little late to the game on this post, but Regal Cinema is offering free summer movies rated G or PG on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Movies start at 10am on Tuesday and Wednesay and tickets and seating are first come, first served and are limited to theatre capacity. This week at Regal Cinema in Clifton Park Center you can see Arctic Tale or Shrek The Third.

Leftovers!

The temperature this week felt more like Labor Day than Memorial Day but we are officially kicking off summer this weekend! I'm looking forward to the parks opening their sprinkler/fountains next week and the start of the public pool season. I'll be posting about all that stuff throughout June. Today's post is a 'leftovers' post because it contains a few unrelated topics.

Tons of stores have Memorial Day sales this weekend. If you're in the shopping mood, you can definitely get some bargains. Before you go, check my favorite printable coupons website. Here's a link to a Babies r Us coupon for 20% off any single regularly priced baby item. Moms-to- be, crib mattress, breast pump, glider? It expires Saturday the 29th, so get there quick!
Here's another good deal. IsaBooties who makes amazing baby shoes, similar to Robeez but eco-friendly and made in the USA is offering all their shoes for $20 this weekend only!

If you need another parade fix, Glens Falls has their Memorial Day parade on Monday the 31st at 10am. It starts on Bay Street and heads North.

Weekend Best Bet: Get used! (books and stuff like that)

Our family uses Mint.com to manage our monthly budget and expenses. I check the site about weekly and see where we're at according to our budget. If the site could talk, it would (in a very stern voice) tell me not to go shopping this weekend. The good news is that this weekend my plans included buying used stuff! Starting on Friday, May 21st from 1pm-5pm, the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library is having a used book sale. Most paperbacks will be $.50 and hard covers will be $1. Hours are Friday 1pm-5pm, Saturday 10-4pm, and Sunday 12-4pm.
This weekend is also big for garage sales. Our neighborhood, Highpointe in Malta is having a sale running from Friday-Sunday. Last year I scored tons of kid stuff. For listings of other local garage sales, check here on Craigslist.

Gymboree 30% off sale starts Thursday

In addition to the Encore Kids Sale on Thursday, Gymboree has their annual Circle of Friends sale which is essentially 30% off everything, including clearance items. To be honest, I've never been much of a Gymboree shopper, but I have a friend that outfits her two kiddos head to toe in Gymbo and they always look super coordinated and straight off the pages of a magazine. I could never keep up with her gusto for style, but I may get there Thursday or Friday and pick up an outfit or two for my little guy. I always like to pick up a couple extra generic things for gifts that may (will) crop up! What I do like about Gymboree is that you can buy really cute coordinating pieces for boys and girls for a family picture, party, holiday, etc.

You can shop online too using the code GYMFAMILY to save 30%. Also for every $50 you spend, you get $25 in 'Gymbucks' which can be redeemed at a later date.

As far as I know, the Encore Kids sale is the last spring/summer consignment sale in the area. Great news is that this one is in Ballston Spa in the 4-H building at the Saratoga Fairgrounds (which are actually in Ballston Spa) on Prospect Street. Here's a link to directions. This is typically a big sale with lots of stuff and lots of people. It's always better to leave the kids at home if you can! Luckily there are evening hours on Thursday until 7pm and Saturday times when lots of things are half off.
